November 2010: Researched Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) and wrote an article for publication as well as Website copy.
November 2010: Provided instructional design support/technology implementation ideas for the development of the UT Dallas eLearning course “Topics in Public Administration.” Course will be using Twitter.
Oct 2010: Researched and co-authored (2 nd author) a full paper for AACE SITE 2011. The paper “Validating the Computer Attitude Questionnaire NFS ITEST” won a Best Paper Award and was presented in Nashville in March.
October 2010: Researched, analyzed, and co-authored (2 nd author) a chapter titled “Instructional Design Frameworks for Second Life Virtual Learning” – for “3D Virtual World Learning Handbook” to be published April 2011.
October 2010: Served on the Review Board for International Society for Technology in Education - ISTE SIG Games and Simulations. Reviewed conference proposals submitted for the ISTE 2011 conference.
September 2010: Re-designed the UT Dallas Office of Student Success Websites OSSA , GEMS , and Assessment for improved navigation, organization, and graphic appeal. Added social media (Facebook and Twitter) for increased visibility of offered services to the student body.
July, 2010: Researched, analyzed, and wrote a conference proposal for AERA (American Educational Research Association) “What's Up with Gender and Math Technology? A Gender Gap Persists at the Higher Education Level”. The proposal was accepted and will be presented April 2010.
May 2010: Served on the Editorial Board of Review for Dr. Charles Wankel of St. John's University. Edited six chapters in “Teaching Arts and Science with the New Social Media”.
January-April 2010 – Designed and implemented a program for UT Dallas students to learn the emerging technology of virtual worlds, to collaborate with campus clients building virtual content, and build portfolio. Held Second Life skills workshops for students, faculty, and staff.
March 2010 – present: Promoted the upcoming events of visiting UT Dallas speakers/lecturers Dr. Scott Warren, Dr. Robert Sternberg, Dr. Raffaello D'Andrea, Dr. Andy Clark, and Dr. Robert Sawyer and streamed the speakers to a global audience through Second Life.
March 2010: Presented on Second Life for class of 89 UT Dallas Engineering students.
March 2010: Researched and presented on “ Digital Storytelling ” and the use of PhotoStory3 at the TxDLA 2010 Conference in Houston.
Dec 2009: Presented “Second Life – the Virtual Classroom” at TWU.
Nov 2009: Presented “UT Dallas Second Life Plan” at UT Southwestern.
Oct – Nov 2009: Developed Machinima (video) for Monash University, Melbourne Australia. The project was a collaborative effort to help Monash students learning Mandarin Chinese to see/hear themselves on video after their interview sessions and presentation, to provide them with feedback so that they could further their language skills.
Sep 2009 – present: Designed brochures, posters, flyers, and promotional materials for UT Dallas GEMS Center.
Sep 2009 – Jan 2010: Served as TXDLA Second Life Post-Conference Committee member 2009-2010. Developed training program for TxDLA members in Second Life skills, and held training sessions for members in-world in preparation for the TxDLA conference. Wrote copy and designed graphics for the training program Website. Helped developed the in-world post-conference. Assisted at on-site training workshop in Houston during March 2010 conference.
March 2009: Presented “Blackboard – The Assessment Tool” at UNT.
Jan 2009 – present: Worked with UTD SOM faculty to further their skills with technology helping them design/create instructional design and opportunities for students to experience new engaging learning environments while also promoting UT Dallas to a broader audience.
Aug 2008 – Created video presentation for Town Hall meeting at Collin College Central Park Campus “ Temporary Inconvenience – Permanent Improvement”.
Nov 2006: Co-presented “Studying at UNT in the ATTD Program” at MountainView College, DCCCD.

April 2006: Presented “ Great Web Pages – The Elements That Makes Them Rock” at Collin College and held a workshop “Size Matter – Change it in Adobe Photoshop” .

2005 – 2008: Served as Online Advisory Board Member (OAB) at Collin College. The Collin Online Advisory Board reviews online courses before they go live and reviews old course inventory to maintain good online course standards. The OAB uses a rubric in their review work. Usually two members review a course and then present their finding to the group for a decision on whether the course is ready or needs further improvements.
2005 – 2006 Served as Emerging Scholars Task Force Secretary at Collin College. Emerging Scholars identifies and encourages outstanding students for their commitment to learning, demonstration of special talent and their potential to excel. The Emerging Scholars holds an annual reception ceremony.
2005: Served as All-College Council Member and Awards Committee Member at Collin College. The council promotes and fosters Collin's Core Values and a spirit of community through communication and service.
2005: Editor for the Scholarly & Civic Engagement (CSCE) Newsletter at Collin College. The CSCE brings together students, faculty, and community members involved in academic initiatives to focus on leadership, scholarship, and community involvement. An intensive learning experience is created through community involvement as well as instilling values of citizenship and civic engagement.
2005 – 2008: Web Developer for Collin Honors College Website. The Honors College provides challenging experiences for students with advanced academic skills and a commitment to learning though interaction with students, faculty, visiting scholars and speakers. The Website holds information about honors courses, the Honors Council, and history about the program. Designed promotional materials for the Honors College such as posters and flyers.
2005: Served as Beaty ECS PTA Newsletter Editor.
2004: Designed a draft for a Graduation Brochure for Collin College. The draft was used as a template when designing the Collin graduation brochure (which did not earlier exist).
2004: Editor for The Faculty Resource Guide at Collin College. The Faculty Resource Guide is a Handbook including an interactive CD.
2003: Served as Secretary for The President's Task Force of The Future at Collin College. The task force drafted Collin's future direction and goals for the coming five years.
2003 – 2008: Web Developer for Collin Council on Excellence (COE). Collin Council on Excellence consists of elected faculty that have a number of duties to maintain throughout the school year such as review of applications for multi-year contracts, nominations for Outstanding Faculty Awards, funding for professional travel, project funding etc. Modernized procedures and helped nominated faculty fill out paperwork for Minnie Stevens Piper Professor Applications. During my service Dr. Rosemary Karr received this honorable national award.
2003 – 2006: Web Developer for the Collin College “Faculty Development” Website. The site contained valuable resources as well as enrichment opportunities, and event listings for faculty.
2001: Served as Chair for the State Employee Charitable Campaign at Collin College. Annual fundraiser among employees for funds to non-profit organizations. Managed fundraiser activities on campus and sent weekly HTML newsletter to employees about the campaign.
2001 – 2007: Web Developer for Estates of Russell Creek Community Website. Re-designed and maintained the site for the neighborhood community.
2001 – 2004: Web Developer for the Collin College Institutional Research (IRO) Website. Re-designed and expanded on the available resources and information.
1998 – 2002: Instructor at Collin College Teaching HTML, Dreamweaver, and Abode Photoshop.
1998 – 2000: Web Developer for Brit Systems Inc. Re-designed and maintained the company Website. Graphics design development for the company.
