Jenny Wakefield has a passion for instruction
Good instruction is key to student success

I have enjoyed teaching continuing education classes in Web Development and Graphics at Collin College for many years. The interaction with the students and being able to transfer my knowledge to them within subjects that I have a passion for, is most rewarding.

As I continue in my ambition to become an Instructional Designer I have developed a Web site on the topic of Instructional Design. The site gives ideas on how to implement the latest technology into the classroom. Students that get to use technolgoy in the classroom and learn from technology interested faculty become engaged scholars: They enjoy learning. Teachers can use technology to make the learning experience a positive one accessing different learning methods/approches.

My Website for Instructional Design is a work in progress explaining good design principles and the use of emerging technologies in education.

For UT Dallas I developed a volunteer program called Student Second Life Success for undergraduates Spring 2010 where interested students were teamed up with campus clients developing virtual content for the univeristy on the university Second Life islands. In the process I trained both students, faculty, and staff. The newsletter "Emerging Technologies" (11-14-09 / 502K) highlites some good-to-knows when first entering Second Life in the quest for its educational uses.
