Audacity (offsite link) is a free downloadble software that lets you edit audio files and create new mp3 files from them.
DimDim (offsite link) - Free online Conferencing for up to 20 participants. Upgraded account allow for additional people to be included.
FreeConference (offsite link) - allows users, at least during Beta testing, to have free accounts. Discuss voice over, safely share desktop, show pictures, PowerPoint presentations and word documents, and navigate to web pages.
GMail (offsite link) - offers a free downloadble plug-in that then allows for Voice and Video chat over the email account.
Skype (offsite link) - offers a free download of a software that allows users to connect with friends and family across the globe. Talk for free over the computer or use the computer as a telephone and call landlines for minimal fees. With the addition of a camera, video chat becomes available but only between two parties. Chat and voice chat may include several parties in conferences.
Mebeam (offsite link) - a free video chat site. Instant live video chat with up to 16 people
